Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its own results. Carlisle County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained long enough to review and answer it. We keep that correspondence within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the server to receive basic technical and usage details about the visit:
- Timestamps for each page view
- The referring site, when one is available
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Your browser type and version
- The device IP address
- Your operating system and general device type
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure such things as popular Carlisle County pages and the points where visits end. Analytics providers may combine this traffic into reports. No Criminal-Record Data on File
Carlisle County Criminal History does not own, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records held by the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office, the Circuit Court Clerk, Kentucky Court of Justice, Kentucky State Police, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. Kentucky law treats those official sources differently. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs access to nonexempt agency records, while KRS 17.580 directs KSP to maintain the public registry without publishing victim-identifying information. Visitor information is not turned into a consumer report or a file about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is handled under that provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing practices. Those terms are not controlled by Carlisle County Criminal History. Review them before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Carlisle County sheriff, Kentucky courts, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or an outside search service. Once a visitor follows one, the destination's policy controls the visit. Read that policy before providing personal data.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and choose targeted ads. We do not operate that cross-site tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold by this site. It may be disclosed or processed by:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that receive a query submitted to their tool
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
- Advertising networks that place ads on the pages

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information collected by this site. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a data breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection law may provide rights beyond this policy. Kentucky's Open Records Act applies to public agencies, not to this privately run site. Its access and exemption rules should not be confused with control over visitor analytics. Kentucky's criminal-record laws also limit specific official data: KRS 431.079 defines expungement for official state-performed checks, and KRS 17.580 protects victim-identifying information in the public registry. A visitor may still ask us to:
- Request that we erase your data
- Ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate
